Cara’s practice focuses on overarching themes of deterioration. Through a variety of analogue and digital processes, she brings awareness to worldwide issues that touch each and every individual on both a personal and global level. She has documented stories relating to Deforestation, Architectural Abandonment, and Mental Health.

In 2019 she began a series of projects based in the country of Indonesia. Initially travelling to the village of Sembuluh, to research the effects that the palm oil industry is having on the Southeast Asian landscape. During the month she spent in Indonesia she conducted an array of interviews and listened to the residents as they told her about the threats the large palm oil companies have inflicted upon their livelihood’s, it became clear to her that this issue not only affects the well-being of the local population but also the worldwide community.

Cara’s most recent project ‘Orang-Utan’ (in which she partnered with NGO Save our Borneo) presents the conflict between the industry and the natural landscape.
